Walking into Wedgewood

The new Wedgewood store opened and I was keen on taking Ilham to the store to introduce her to a taste of the finer things in life. We took the afternoon off on Saturday and headed to the store in Parkhurst which is about a forty-five minute drive for us.

The store itself is dreamy. It is almost so spotless and shiny, you don't feel like walking in. The staff, however, are helpful and eager to lend a helping hand. You are welcomed by some chocolate nougat samples. The biscuits sell at R35 each and you get a free box of biscuits if you buy for boxes. The biscuit is something else.

The main pull factor of the Wedgewood store was the ice cream. Ilham loves ice cream and since it is getting warmer, it was our way to treat her for being so good. The only problem is the cups had run out so we had to settle for cone ice cream. Cone ice cream is impossible to eat clean. There is no where to sit in the store so we had to walk with our cones. This is all the more difficult with a two-year-old who has to pay attention to walking and cannot walk and lick the melting ice cream at the same time. Needless to say, I ended up with ice cream all over my top.

I must admit that had been the best ice cream ever and the cherry on top to the start of a warmer weekend. Tip: when going for ice cream, take extra clothes for baby and you!
