#UNlaunch

This weekend saw the new VW T-Roc launching and the team of Volkswagen certainly went all out to showcase the addition to their SUV range. The car creators at VW believe that the new car model is aimed specifically at the "Style performance seeker," and it surely was a stylish launch of a stylish car for those who want stylish performance from the car they choose to purchase. So stylish was the launch but the most stylish feature of the arrival of the SUV in SA was that quite a few VW customers put down deposits for this baby without even catching a glimpse of the T-Roc. Sounds feisty, doesn't it? Now imagine a black T-Roc with red detailing-Ummm now that is feisty.  Feisty enough to be the new mum-vehicle? I guess the baby seat will slide in perfectly into the T-Roc.

Test Driving the T-Roc

To align with the Covid-19 regulations, only 50 people gathered at a designated time slot that was set based on your personal convenience. You were given the option of test driving the brand new SUV or you could choose to be chauffeured by a designated driver through the streets of Melrose Arch. The venue for the test drive was excellently plotted out and entertainment awaited you at every angle of the drive. The T-Roc drives like any other VW car and if you are a VW driver you know exactly what I mean. It's a smooth drive, pleasurable indeed. As a test driver, the drive around the streets of Melrose Arch mall went too quickly and you certainly wanted a longer drive.

T-Roc Design

As stylish as the launch so too were the VW T-Roc models that decorated the parking lot. UNconventional in design, it is one of the first VW models that allow buyers to pick two tones for their car design. It also elegantly boasts the new VW logo, being the second car in Southern Africa to showcase the newer logo.

If you are techno-geek, perhaps the 8-inch infotainment system found in the T-Roc will appeal to you. There is an option to pair up your phone wirelessly to the infotainment system and I have to add for someone quite new to the technological aspects of motor vehicles, it certainly was an admirable feature.

There are several other safety features offered by the T-Roc, one that I am particularly a fan of is the Park Distance Control.

The T-Roc can be customized to meet your specifications of what your car should look like as well as what technological gadgets ought to be included in your car.

All in all, I would settle for a 2L instead of the 1.4L T-Roc but preference is a matter of taste.

Tamara Dey entertained attendees of the VW UNlaunch and you have to admit that more than the "colours shining in synergy" the T-Rocs outshined any other motor vehicles in the same parking lot that day!
