DRAMATICODE

So many of you know me as a blogger from Dramatic Dollhouse and you also know me as an English and Mathematics teacher. What you don't know is that I started the Dramatic Dollhouse blog to freely endorse companies and people who wanted to step up on the entrepreneurial bandwagon. Last year I expanded my brand and created Dramatic Marketer. I started writing blog posts for companies like Botshelo and Healthy Kamala (to mention a few)  for revenue. Alongside that this year I adorned a different hat- the entrepreneurial hat. A few years back I got an opportunity to learn coding from a university in Israel. Thereafter, I furthered my studies in coding and computer programming.  Coding is what you call a language that computer programmers use to create applications, games, and software. My business is called Dramaticode.

I teach kids and adults how to code. This means that children learn coding language through a funky interactive program that I have carefully developed. I use 4 coding languages to teach and basically the coding language you learn depends on your age, capabilities, and interest. The way I developed my coding classes was based on the idea of having kids face to face so that children who don't have computers can use mine. The problem came along when people from far showed interest in the program too. I charge between R55- R80 per 55-minute lessons and hence provided to be a highly affordable option for many South Africans. When COVID-19 hit, I had to refocus my entire business idea. I started allowing for online coding lessons whereby children and adults could still learn the skill whilst staying safe at their homes. It has been fun especially since I have learnt that adults can be as enthusiastic as kids too.

So why coding?
Coding is like learning a new language and being multi-lingual only makes smarter.
In learning to write code on professional coding programs, one learns that getting spelling correct is of utmost importance.
Problem-solving skills are enhanced and problem-solving is directly related to mathematics.
Coding is fun and while getting a code correctly sometimes causes you to pull your hair out, you will enjoy it.
Learning coding from young will help you when you search for a job in the future.
