Tea Time With Tealyst

It's been a busy few weeks of wedding preparations and answering one too many wedding-related questions. I was glad to have had the opportunity of de-stressing with a flavoursome cup of tea while I tutored Macbeth last Thursday. After reading about bearded witches and prophecies, I surely deserved a hearty cup of tea to zone out with. The tea break came as a much needed down time and gave me some free time from all the wedding related thoughts floating around in my head.

"Tell me more about the tea," you curiously ask. Well my selection of teas arrived in an inviting box  from Tealyst South Africa. This unique company offers you the option of having your monthly tea dosage by simply subscribing to their tea service. In this way subscribers get to have a selection of four uniquely blended teas delivered to their homes every month. Now isn't that the most delectable information for you to sip on?

This month's tea box retailed for R269 which was a steal judging from the fact that each box included a free tea infuser (a cute little rubbery man) worth R120. (EXTRA INFORMATION:The infuser was a creation of the 90's which was invented to easily steep broken tea leaves). The free delivery promised with every tea box makes the tea subscription service offer all the more appealing.

August's Tea Box
This months tea box reminded me of an Alice In Wonderland type of tea party. The selection of teas seemed to be exotically selected by The Mad Hatter himself who knew exactly how to make the tea drinker lose track of time, one slow sip at a time....

The one tea tube contained Lemongrass Chai Tea. The potent mix of black tea, lemongrass, nutmeg, black pepper and cardamom makes the ideal cup for a "Good Morning". Lemongrass Chai Tea was my favourite flavour tasting best when milk and sugar was added to complement the spiciness of cardamom and lemon pepper. Cardamom is always my go to ingredient when I want to get lost in a delectable cup of tea and the cardamom flavour certainly seeped through this blend producing an incredibly spicy citrus fragrance when the tea was boiled. The origin of this particular traditional tea is India and since I am a lover of Indian tea, its no wonder why I was so taken aback by this relatable blend.

The second test tube could be called a sprinkle of sunshine. The Sunshine Orange Rooibos Tea is sure to add some sunshine to your life (especially during these cold days of late), being a tea infused with orange pieces, safflower petals and natural flavours. The orange aroma from the minute you open the test tube delights the senses and is a healthy alternative to tea time being without any caffeine.  This type of tea originates from our homeland South Africa and is best enjoyed during the afternoon or when battling the flu.

Sip on tea as you have it in China. The Cherry Sencha Green Tea mixes cherry with the Sencha green tea and rose petals. The fragrance that left the test tube was quite deceiving as the strong scent didn't do justice to the smooth drink at all. The Cherry Sencha Green tea surpassed my expectations making me melt away in cherry and sencha heaven....

The Honeybush Mint Tea answered my cry for help. This tea in a carefully sealed black packet is the miracle mix to cure insomnia, tension and depression. The caffeine free blend works wonders for all ailments (including headaches and cramps). The drink maintain its minty refreshing taste, tasting all the more fresher with each slow sip. Honeybush enhances the flavour of the mint making the South African tea ideal for sipping on just before bed. I surely felt more at ease and relaxed with this magic potion.

We all know that tea is simply a drink of crushed tea leaves boiled in water but these types of teas are the most soothing warm drink that is ideal for a bride on edge.

Not only does Tealyst tea delight the bride's taste buds but also gives brides-to-be the option of having personalized tea vials as  wedding favours.. The wedding tea tubes are the ideal wedding gift from the bride to her guests because who doesn't love tea? Also who doesn't need a good cup of tea after a wedding?

Teapot or not you cannot resist such a palatable amalgamation of only the finest blends from all around the world.
