OH SO HEAVENLY.......
A sailor who sailed through many storms was yet to experience the biggest turmoil yet.....
One night en-route home he saw a body afloat near the lighthouse.
To his surprise the lifeless looking corpse that lay next to the light house was a living girl who had managed to beat the tide and swam her way to safety but had lost a lot of energy and far too much blood in her struggle to get out of the water.
The sailor being a good Samaritan had taken the lady into his boat and looked after her until she was fully recovered. The girl he discovered was a dancer at the onshore pub-a HULA dancer. He had bandaged her COTTON SOFT hands that had smelt like it was LAVENDER INFUSED with hints and traces of COCONUT. The HULA dancer had danced her way into the sailor's heart and the sailor had felt LUCKY IN LOVE...AT FIRST SIGHT, the sailor had been SWEPT OFF HIS FEET. His CHARMING HEART could not bear her FLIRTACIOUS glances and her VANILLA like sweetness. The IRRESISTABLE attraction between them led to becoming closer in a PROTECTED love story with ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES......The CARE they shared for each other STRENGHTENED their bond and they lived HAPPY together.
Wouldn't a story like this be OH SO HEAVENLY?
I was inspired to take a romantic fantasy like twist when writing a post on some new products from the OH SO HEAVENLY range. The reason for my love meets fairy tale inspired post was because I fell hopelessly in love with the heavenly products I received.
Firstly the HULA HANDS that I was sent is a pack of wet wipes enclosed in a pink neatly sealed packet. The HULA HANDS as the name suggests are fruity fresh wipes take on the normal wet wipes vibes but makes it an extremely cool and yummy bag essential. These wet wipes are enriched with some vitamin E and Aloe Vera making it function not only as a handy wipe but as a serum for the hands and a hand protector as well. The smell seeps through the packet once opened and resealed making it a bag delight. It is known for its juicy and fruity scent yet the fragrance of the wipes reminded me of the smell of PINK FIZZERS. Since I absolutely love the smell of pink fizzers, I was sold. I was also glad that even though the wipes mimicked the fragrance of the fizzers it didn't leave hands feeling sticky at all.
The second HEAVENLY treat I received was the ultimate bag essential. In a lilac and purple easy-squeezy tube was the hand and nail cream. The cream has a rather potent lavender smell which lingers on the hands and nails until you wash your hands with soap. The cream is an essential for dry hands as it effectively soothes itchy, irritable and dry skin. The cream contains jojoba oil and Vitamin C. Both these ingredients are perfect for skin providing ultimate nourishment and healing to the skin.
The final product that arrived, knocked at my door with much love. Although pink and blue will never do, the can of the LUCKY IN LOVE spray was a combination of baby blue and baby pink and it really did do. I enjoyed the aroma of the spray which boarded between a vanilla sweet smell and a musky sandalwood strong scent. I especially enjoyed that the smell stayed on throughout the day. I'm not sure how white flower and pear smell but I'm told this OH SO HEAVENLY fragrance features these scents as top notes. I suppose I was more sold by the fact that the fragrance was one that left me feeling fresh and confident during the day yet it was not overpowering in any way.
What's your favourite OH SO HEAVENLY product?
Speaking of the ideal story, we drift back to reality where life often seems far too less perfect. I recently received a book from Penguin entitled My not so Perfect Life. Since we all face less than perfect days I was delighted to read about someone else's life that wasn't in the least bit perfect.
Sophie Kinsella's book was read by a personal favourite author Jojo Moyes who said the book left her feeling giddy. I encountered a similar feeling during my read. The story deals with the protégé or Katie Brenner as she is called. She, like many of us dreams of success and the perfect life. Her reality is much more bitter than that. She is fired by Dermeter her boss and with her failed attempt at a job, all her hopes comes crashing down. She moves back home to aid her dad in his business. As fate has its twisted way, Dermeter lands up on the same holiday as Katie. Katie is left with the dilemma of seeking revenge from her ex boss or pleading for her job back. Yet Dermeter like Katie has a not so perfect life. Katie is yet to discover that the life of Dermeter that she so much envied may as well has just as many setbacks as her life does......
In a read which is an amalgamation of love and work place politics you are bound to chuckle every now and again. The story is a vibrant rendition of how we all secretly hope someone else's life is less perfect than ours. It also openly exposes us to social media realities and how we all seek refuge in the not so real realities broadcasted on Instagram (I am one such fool who buys into social media realities). I loved that Sophie's characters felt almost like real everyday people and you couldn't help but relate to them. In realizing the imperfections that our lives shares with the life of the fictional character Katie, one cannot help but feel all cheered up after the joyful read.
I would recommend this novel to anyone experiencing relationship and work related issues and stress. It was truly a PERFECT read for my bride-to-be nerves and for opening me up to the idea that married life may not always be as rosy and perfect as it may seem.
My less than romantic fiancée has happened to send me my favourite chocolate Milkybar and he had placed it in the book I was reading which happened to be this book. I guess when you start to look for perfections in the smaller things in life you surely do find them.
