How to murder your life...

Have you ever had days when nothing worked in your favour? Well, I'm unfortunately having one of those days today. The book by Cat Marnell called, "How To Murder Your Life" speaks volumes to me right now.

If you looking for a light read yet an emotionally stimulating one then I would certainly recommend this book to you. Reaching my 26 age mark I most related to the twenty-six year old Cat who had it all and caused it all to slip away.

After successfully landing her big break at a top fashion magazine in America, Cat's life was perfect... or so that's what you would expect it to be. Cat has a secret, an unescapable drug problem, an alcohol dependency and she is a full on party girl after working hours. Her troubled life is worsened by the fact that she is living a lonely one as well....

I enjoyed the read as it was a firsthand account of how someone so successful could let life slip through their fingers and actually cause their own destruction.  I love Cat's brutal honestly and the way she explains her enigmatic state of mind under the influence. Her explanations cadence with self pity and hints or remorse. A memoir such as this is one of a kind especially in our generation when real is much more valuable than anything fake.

One would initially feel negative about reading Cat's rendition of how to screw up your life  but this is one read you simply cannot miss. The book is one that promises to leave you with tears in your eyes as you approach the last few pages...
It also helps that the book cover is so darn attractive, being a striking green with traces of silver..

I would recommend this book to teenagers as I feel its the best way for them to get in touch with the realities of addiction and how one can simply cause their own destruction without even being aware that they are doing it.#HTMYL
