Glaming it up with GlamGlow

Thursday 23 February in all its rain and gloom welcomed the pre-launch event for GlamGlow in a posh corner in Sandton City's Edgars. Media invited guests as well as PR guests were welcomed by a tall, dark and handsome stranger showing off his 6 pack (yum) with HELLO SEXY spray painted in sliver paint all over his body. Champagne bubbled in the background with vanilla iced GlamGlow cupcakes and vanilla coated strawberries decorating the table where the GlamGlow products were neatly arranged in an assortment of vivid colours. The presentation started with a run down about how the brand came about......

A Hollywood Glowtale

Basically we have the couple Shannon and Glenn Dellimore who were obviously living it up in Hollywood knowing fully well that money was not an issue. Keanu Reeves was the celebrity who in his far from sober state asked if he could use a single product that would make him look camera worthy in an instant for his shoot the next morning- he needed to look less hangover. The couple who knew no such product existed in the market  put their creative genius minds to work and set off to create the product seeking the assistance of skincare experts and makeup know alls. Within a year their products had become a hit and every film set could not be completed without their little tubs of magic.

The magic process
TEAOXI is a leaf stemming process that allows GlamGlow products to produce instant results.Leaves for the process are sourced worldwide to provide the best and immediate results.

GlamGlow products
SUPERMUD (white): Treats problematic skin. Cures imperfections and clarifies skin whilst mattifying skin and getting rid of unwanted pores.

YOUTHMUD (Black): Reduces fine lines and prevents aging of skin. Refines and smoothens out lines leaving the face glowy.

GRAVITYMUD (Purple): This mud makes the face firmer, tighter and toned. For all my contour fans this is the mask for you.

THIRSTYMUD (Light Blue): This is hydration treatment in a tub. It calms, replenishes and hydrates the skin's surface.

FLASHMUD (Orange): To look brighter and glow with radiance the flashmud works wonderfully. It corrects uneven skin tones and makes skin glowy in 3 days.

POWERMUD (Green): This mud is a cleansing mud that purifies and deep cleanses skin.

DREAMDUO (Sliver): The latest mud innovation is the most potent one. It plumps skin whilst moisturizing it and leaving it glowing. This nightly treatment is a serious transformation cream.

Plumprageous: This is an instant plumping technique and mind you it gives you a fuller pout after seconds of application and a few tingly sensations all over your cupid's bow.

After leaving with a sample, all I can promise is a full review as soon as my products arrive at my door. EXCITED*

GlamGlow is  soon to be available in Edgars and Foshini stores.

The One Memory of Flora Banks
By: EMILY BARR

I often attend one to many blogger events and look back and think of every aspect of the event. What if I could no longer remember?

Have you ever thought about what would happened if you couldn't remember why your friend made you laugh? What would happen if you couldn't recall the instructions your parents gave you? What if you couldn't remember what you did yesterday or even how old you are today?

The main character of Emily's story suffers from Amnesia and has lost her short term memory.(Think Drew Berrymore in 50 First Dates). Needless to say she is hopeless at remembering anything. Somehow she is able to remember that she kissed her best friend's boyfriend. Flora is no convinced that her best friend's boyfriend is the only one who can help her regain her memory. Flora gets brave as the words "Be Brave" are the only words inked in her skin and sets out on a quest to find Drake and regain her memory. Can Flora piece together the missing pieces of her life?

The appropriate target market: Teens and young adults
The cover: Certainly is one of the most apt covers for this particular story.
The main character: Flora is young and quirky much like any normal seventeen year old. Flora's condition was taken too lightly in the book and in reality Flora would not be left unsupervised as often as she was In the book.
The best part: Barr made sure to make reading the story from the point of view of an amnesiac all the more realistic. The story include much repetition and for me that made it all the more appropriate because that level of redundancy is what would usually be expected from amnesiacs. It can become annoying reading the repetition but that's the reality and I was glad Barr chose to include this aspect of amnesia in her story and in her main character's conduct.

This book was my cup of tea and offers many yummy twists.

Available from Penguin Books South Africa.
