SEVEN SHADES OF GREY-------> ESSENTIAL DARKER
Essence, my favourite save yourself a penny brand has officially released their "all that greys" edition. The brand is set to take make up looks all the way back to the 1920's, focusing mainly on retro-party -glamour. See guys not everything that sparkles is silver or gold, sometimes GREY saves the day (I was certainly not thinking of my favourite fictional character Christian Grey while writing this...wink wink)...
So what exactly happens when shades of grey meets rosy red? A blast from the good old '20s. The combination of sultry scarlet red and the blends of all tones of grey certainly is a noteworthy love affair. (Juicy, Juicy....)
The Essence "all that greys" range is available at Clicks stores during this youthful month of June and will be stocked up in all your nearest Dischem's round about early July.
So what exactly does this range consist of:
An eye shadow palette... A good blend of eye shadow tones and textures is everything and the Essence eye shadow palette is made up of seven shades of rose and grey.
Retail price: R96.50
The right combination of eye shadow seems incomplete without your party lashes. In the blink of a lash, Essence brings you the corner lash. These lashes are meant to be applied on the outer corners of your eyelid to add depth, definition and pizazz to your own lashes.
Retail Price: R47.95
Smoke up those eyes with an easy to apply powder pencil in black or grey. The powder pencil has a sponge applicator that allows for easy application of the powder dust.
Retail Price: R57.95
...........Flash back to "The eye makeup" in the 1920s...........
Mascara has just about become the new rage and every lady had to pump up their lashes. For their eyes, women in the 20's preferred a smoky, kohled eye look that was daring in its own right but awfully seductive as well.
Essence has brought in a product that will leave you flawlessly porcelain, giving your skin that incredible finish. The porcelain face and body loose powder is subtly glowy and will leave your face radiant.
Retail Price: R63.50
The 1920's make up look remains incomplete without the rosy pout. Pout your way back to the 20's party scene with Essence's all that grey's lip gloss which leaves your lips with an incredible shine. Lip glosses range from intense red to a soft rosewood.
Retail Price: R39.95
...........Flash back to "The perfect pout" in the 1920s...........
Lips were decorated in Scarlett reds or rose reds. In the 20's the ladies would under draw their natural lip line and would draw their lip lines in such a way that their upper lips would appear to make a cupid's bow shape. (Unfortunately this will be drifting away from the overdrawn lip lines we currently prefer due to our King Kylie lip addiction).
...........Flash back to "The rouge" in the 1920s...........
Blusher was applied in circular brush motions as opposed to angular contoured like motions we are now used to. The idea was to create a rounded face as opposed to the oval ideal face shape that we have been trying to recreate of late.
Luckily for us Essence has our backs when taking us back to the 20's.
