Dream House Winner
A big congratulations to Nomasonto Nhlapho for being a participant and the lucky winner of my first ever giveaway.
Some of the entries I particularly loved and had to share included:
"When I read, I can forget my real life for a moment. I can go to places where I've never been to before, meet new people, experience things that I would never be able to experience in real life. It means I can go anywhere I want and get lost in a world that would only be possible to experience in my dreams and imagination." Ayanda Tafane
"Its been said that reading enhances our thinking . It stretches and strains our mental muscles. It hits our narrow, delicate and intolerant views with new ideas and facts , and I agree with this . Many of times we don't take into account why we enjoy reading , yet when we start its impossible to leave .. Have we ever thought why?? Never ... There's something different with reading . It challenges you into identifying things on your own and becoming more and more creative and thoughtful . It creates a bigger picture in your mind and it makes you aware of different things you come about whilst reading." Aadil Ghasitah
Loved most of your answers and I would love to share them all.
My advice: read on guys.
Extracts from Dream House that I particularly enjoyed:
"There are many houses we pass through during our lives. Maybe it's true that they also pass through us. Some of them remain with us, and we are able to return to them long after they are gone. Once such house was a farmhouse in KwaZulu-Natal, just over the hills of the boarding school I attended between the ages of ten and fourteen."
'They have been lovers for over thirty years. It doesn't matter that they have hardly touched in fifteen of them and that they only see each other every other month: as soon as they're together again, some of their old feelings reenters the air- a feeling they have never spoken about to anyone, since John was a young English teacher at the school and Patricia a spirited farmer's wife who bred Welsh ponies for other people's children."
Wrapped and packed and off went the prize...................................................................
